Story of a strumpet

In fact, I bought this book because of the American Film, I had seen only in English and that I liked, without quite understanding the history and also because-this book was to Daniel Defoe.
I admit, I had great difficulty reading it, too long introduction, writing with a lot of repetition, especially motivated explanations of the actions of the main character - the book is written in the first person.
Woman This character is not very friendly - for my taste - very interested in money, which is understandable because of its origin. Finally I found only the last part of the book interesting.
In fact, the story is so convoluted that the film n 'is based on a small part of the story of' Moll Flanders' actually much nicer than in the book.
