All albums gathered here range from the excellent and exceptional.
Two discs are inescapable: Saxophone Colossus (note that this link points to a quality edition which contains both 33t "Saxophone Colossus" and "Worktime" and especially the fantastic Plus 4 - Digipack last official registration of another giant: Clifford Brown.
This kind of compilation is usually for an audience that wants to discover the musician, be it in jazz or classical, they are so precious title. On this point, it's perfect because it consists of both Sonny ROLLINS more accessible and record high quality music.
The problem applies to many of the double CD (Label: Avid Jazz) comes from the fact that this subculture from vinyl as evidenced by the comments for Count Basie: Four Classic Albums

This will, in cabinet, consider that the musical quality / price worth buying to discover the musician or to fill a void in a nightclub. But if you enjoy it, then I highly recommend this quality issue (unless you need a luxury packaging) The Prestige Albums (8 CD Set)
