** *** Hardware
The device itself is tiny - only slightly larger than a normal USB plug. The antenna can be connected directly to the connector. For a laptop certainly optimal. There is also a small foot on a 1m long cable in, so you can place the antenna. The third option is the use of a standard antenna by also supplied adapter. To top things off is a replacement antenna.
The reception is fine with me (Berlin), I get clean all the channels. Unfortunately, does not provide the current software the ability to view the signal strength or quality, so you are in poor reception conditions on some tinkering instructed.
*** *** Software
The software itself is nicely done and modern. All Apple-like and "Klickibunti". Although the time for switching the transmitter's is somewhat longer than in the TV but acceptable. It is interesting to live display of the quotas of the individual transmitters. Recordings can be done very easily via the electronic program guide. Of course, is also a time shift, the length can be an adjustable Buffer (space on the HD) set. The recorded contents are as MPEG ago File and can later be cut with Tizi - Again, the software is really easy to use. Of course you can play back your movies not only with the software Tivi but with any other program (eg VLC). That's already been during the recording is still running. Air play works! Properly. Currently Tizi runs only on the Mac, but a Windows version is coming.
*** Can Improve ***
There is no remote control here. That does not bother me, I find the idea of an iPhone app much better. Unfortunately, the quality of this app is not as good. She has great connectivity issues. I hope here for an update. The idea is itself very well. It would be nice not indicate the reception strength and quality, as already mentioned initially.
*** Conclusion ***
Super. Would I buy again at any time and is also a beautiful gift.
Update: After prolonged use, unfortunately, tarnishes the image a little. The software is very unstable and brought the Mac several times to total freeze. The recording was then, of course, gone. The EPG is regularly incomplete and there is no REFRESH button for it.
Update: After a longer use, I have unfortunately not yet found a reliable solution for permanently programmed recordings. Either without the corresponding options (recording x minutes before the beginning of start) or bugs cause problems (with 3 successive consignments, the mean not recorded when an extension of time was set 15min). I now use the similar offer of big competitor and am much happier with it. The shots are more reliable and there are quite a number of good additional functionalities.
