Installation:

Using the supplied apps the cameras can also be controlled by a smartphone and view recorded images.
Operation:
To test the camera was given a fixed IP address and integrated into a WLAN. For WLAN the WPA2 protocol was used with a very long cryptic key. When saving the network ID problems have arisen because of a certain name length must not exceed and not all special characters are accepted. For this had to be changed and this change can be traced to all other wireless devices in our case, the wireless ID.
The IPCamViewer program ran the test on Windows XP stable as long as the user had full admin rights. Under Windows 7 major problems have occurred. A real test was not possible. In Windows 8, the software was largely stable again.
It was possible to store snapshots and predetermined events on network drives in order to evaluate them in retrospect. The use of an additional memory card that can be inserted in the camera has not been tested.
The app for Android was very unstable on a Medion Lifetab under Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Because the software did not cooperate, much could not be tested.
Safety:
We have found no way to change the password in the camera permanently. This password is available both on the box and on the body of the camera. The same applies to the system name. However, it is possible to set an individual password for IPCamViewer software for the PC.
Is to be welcomed that the camera supports WPA2 protocol with long passwords.
Bad is that the software on Windows 7 not running and useful under Windows XP, the user full admin rights needed to use the monitoring and control software without interference. Here arise many possibilities of abuse and the risk for the computer in question. The software itself uses when installing deep into the system, which draws attention to warning messages on it.
Advantages:
1. The supplied components were completely, leaving a solid impression. Have been included in addition to the camera power supply, network cable, a wall bracket and a small CD with the software and a description.

In the system, there is more of a game system as one which can be used for genuine monitoring and surveillance purposes. Responsible for this is the unstable and not really sure implemented software. The underlying ideas are good, but unfortunately poorly implemented or unsafe. From a possible five stars, we can therefore unfortunately only awarded two stars.
For the device as a game system is what the affordable price. The assessment could be significantly improved in future if more sophisticated and stable current software updates are available.
