The installation in the network, and the device is really easy - and I am not a computer professional. Simply through the browser enter the IP address, and you can already access a good and clean interface. Here are easy to make all settings.
As I am already used to from the competitors WD, this device is externally very well made by the manufacturer Buffalo. However, the devices of WD in my operation are quieter. Whose slight humming noise is not really disturbing.
From the factory, the Buffalo LinkStation is 420 set in RAID 0. That one has the full 2GB memory. I want it but use it as a RAID 1. The conversion / reformatting is fairly simple, is directly explained well in the settings (for that you do not even need a manual) and goes well for beginners within a few minutes on the stage.
The Buffalo LinkStation 420 is for me as a layman overall super network storage, not too complicated and highly recommended! In direct comparison to Western Digital MyBook I would classify as both equally well.
