All children of the 80s have grown up with synthpop. Depeche Mode and New Order been relevant. Also camouflage were able to record some big successes, despite that they were decried as German DM. What Synthiepopband did not influence DM? Nevertheless Camouflage have not copied from the outset. They have their own style, the maximum DM contained elements. After the 2nd album but the great experiment went off at camouflage. Steadily declining sales figures were the response of the fans. Meanwhile was still ok, Bodega Bohemia was no improvement in my eyes, Spice Crackers (culmination of experimentation) was a full disaster, and had nothing more to do with camouflage. I know that some like the album, but for me just lacked the melancholy, the gloomy, the mystical element that camouflage has initially awarded. I do not like just any synthpop, Erasure and Pet Shop Boys is not really my thing, PSB rather than Erasure. DM also verrannten breath at strange experiments. Thankfully jumped into the breach in the meantime bands like De / Vision, Iris, Seabound and mesh. But camouflage came back with sensor and Relocated, 2 very great synth pop albums. And now Greyscale ... amazing !!! For me to be very coherent album, similar to the last Seabound. Rather held steady and slow down to 2-3 pieces, but enormously complex and full of atmosphere. And the duet with Heppner is affengeil. Shine is a good single that somehow reminds me of Hurts. Misery is a nice uptempo number. Would be something for the club. And people ... the duet should definitely be the new single. This could help to at last be recognized once again by more people. I express Camouflage fingers crossed that they finally again have a little more success. And hopefully we will not have again eight years to wait until something new comes. Thank you for this great album.
