But not with Tech! Tech N9ne has always been underground, and that is - always will be - at least concerning the sound. The featurings have to adapt all exceptionally suffer from Tech's flow and its sometimes quite own beat selection. There are not many who can prevail so. If you now have for example a Featuring Chris Brown, one can predict quite accurately in 90% of cases, as the sound is. Namely by Chris Brown. On All 6's & 7's can be the well - it will sound like Tech. And Tech presents itself as good as ever. He is one of the few rappers who can say they still have evolved steadily through their whole career. And even if he could rap already very good 12 years ago, so now everything sounds more sophisticated and even a bit more mature.
But mature does not mean as in so many others, that the album is totally serious and thus somehow boring. Of course, it goes even less earth-shaking issues, such as in "F ** k Food". But that does not matter if this man the listener such flow around the ears skin that you really have difficulty in listening to him, because you prefer to just sit there, enjoying the flow of words, only to then next after Line to say: "Uh, what did he again said?". But will you at Tech also rewarded when you listen to him sometimes. The texts are full of eloquence, is paired with the brute beats and its flow that regularly a real fireworks. And if not just tech wegfetzt our ears, so he knows how to use his quiet side perfectly. Songs like "Strange Land", which impresses with its incredibly dense atmosphere, or "Mama Nem", the from scratch is just honest, create the balance that needs a really good album.
That leaves only the question of what there is to complain about. The only thing that would come to mind here, would be that it might perhaps one or the other feature guest is too much here or there. But actually all make their job extremely well, as well all know, not to outstrip Tech. But that is a fix alone flow technically anyway times.
That leaves in my opinion, so far best album of 2011. Whether this is topped off remains to be seen. Yelawolf might have what it takes, J. Cole has probably bogged down after the first reactions a little. But this album should be drawn every rap fan definitely to heart. A classic, it is not, such plates are quieter. But this is rap at its finest. And only the song "Worldwide Choppers" is one of the best rap songs of recent years for me.
Now even my 5 Favourites:
1. Worldwide Choppers - 9 rapper, a faster and more pronounced than the other. One of the highlights of recent years (!!)
2. Mama Nem - An honest gratitude to the mother, who is cheesy at any point.
3. F ** k Food - As always strong tech, strong Wayne, and a surprisingly good T-Pain - monstrous Hook from him.
4. He's A Mental Giant - A kind of solo version of Worldwide Choppers. Just not as fast - are also no competition. Nevertheless, here the fire is sprayed without end
5. Strange Land - tech know his voice so well to the beat adapt that an incredibly impressive atmosphere is created. Headphones on, eyes, already one is right in the Strange Land.
