The album is for all, TAS rather in the indie folk-corner look a bit strange. Yes, a lot of synthesizers, no question. I found persönllich eg "the con" terrific, so "Heartthrob" can not be compared in terms of the sound. That was after the single "Closer" there. But the fact remains that TAS fantastic songwriter. Say, the songs on "Heartthrob" are simple - even on the first listen - almost all class. Catchy, melodic, if you will bit more mainstream, but still first-class. And the distinctive voices of the two make quite as ever around. Therefore, they are maybe one or two new Fan to win (which can then discover many older albums) as well as the die-hard fans will love the album!
