Construction of the radio:
Front buttons for operator control and a knob to adjust the volume. The antenna is geknappt from the back side up and is rotated and tilted. Is the power cord for a 230 V socket on the right side. The cable is wrapped in two "handles" and is 1.8 m long. On the left is a door, behind which the AUX input and a USB port hidden. The flap is slightly wobbly, but still okay. The AUX terminals MP3 players or smart phones can be connected to play the music on it. About the USB connector MP3 Player, Smart Phone, etc. can be charged. This only works when the radio wired depend on electricity. In the side pocket devices that are less than 20 mm high, can be safely stowed. On the back of the battery pack is inserted. The battery is not protected, but can simply be pushed only to the contacts. The battery also locks anywhere - just plug it and go. The seat is fixed, the battery does not fall off.
Service:
Turning on the "A" key. It follows the first turn on an automatic scan in the DAB range incl. (If possible) time and date query. The search takes me about 30 seconds and is also needed only once. The stations in the DAB range are displayed with the name. The titles that are running appear (Artist - Title). Excellent! DAB stations can be easily stored (max. 10) be and are then stored after turning off the Radions. Made possible by a small button cell which is located at the rear inside the Radions. The DAB transmitter listen good. Unfortunately, there is every now and then longer dropouts on the DAB stations. Noise due to bad reception I have not yet had, but just complete misfire. Even if you move before the Radion, it sets out frequently.
In FM area it also looks no better. The search stations is unfortunately only possible through forward and rewind. A manual setting of a frequency is not possible. My local station is the Radion not always. Now you think, does not it, I store my favorite stations anyway a. I thought so too. Unfortunately that is not possible. Although there are 10 memory locations in the FM area available, but save a FM transmitter is not possible. After contact with the Service of DeWalt me was the following words / emailed: "with the device DCR020 no FM stations can be stored, false note in manual storage is only possible when the device DCR019.." Because you can buy the larger radio compared to DCR019 that only AM and FM can and then you have to accept that you can not write FM transmitter. Once you turn off the radio, all the 10 station presets in the FM area on the default setting.
The sound from the radio is good. At low volume you always hear a noise (but that's really only when listening very carefully and turn down the volume to hear). When you turn on the radio a fixed volume level is automatically selected, which is not Variegated bar. In addition, the radio will always directly in DAB mode.
Benefits:
- Low weight and small size
- Stable processing
Disadvantages:
- No storing of FM stations possible
- Repeatedly misfires when receiving
