That was again nothing ...

Actually I wanted to write a review in which I can praise the good lady Isabelle because she has a good idea for their third thought, instead of producing an edition number 3 of her debut success.
Actually I wanted to praise, because veteran Quincy Jones has once again done everything right and his productions (4 are there on the CD) protrude.
Actually I wanted to praise, because the well-known songs, interpreted by ZAZ, so wonderfully refreshing otherwise come along.
Actually I wanted to praise as duets are always a nice touch.

Well, I can not praise any of the 4 points.
That was nothing.

Why?
Sequentially:

1) Paris sera toujours Paris: the song like, ZAZ sings the song sassy and quick, almost a bit too trashy way, musically well accompanied in tradional French popular song style, because they will feel in Paris. That fits.

2) Paris canaille: the song is annoying fast, jazzy background music with a lot of chanting in - sorry - hip-hop style.

3) A Paris: A capella singing. Good idea, but the buzzing, whining and snip men's background choir backfires, I think.

4) Dans mon Paris (Version manouche): one of the best songs of the album. Everything is great here, the (moderate, but still typical) vocal style of ZAZ, combined with a beautiful swinging combo in French "bistro-occupation"

5) Champs Elysées: Well, a lot of hopes, held nothing. The wind of Quincy Jones act overproduced and out of place, also act as played in the background distant, and the interpretation of the classic does not offer much new .... ZAZ warbles it easy down. Poor.

6) Sous le ciel de Paris: A Tango. Very nice. Starts very quietly, then in the end, overloaded faster and unfortunately too fast and noisy moderately in the course. Therefore, a point deduction must also take place here.

7) La Parisienne: again a typical ZAZ song that suits her. Beautifully presented, with quiet waltz tunes, and fast chorus passages. Like.

8) I Love Paris / J'aime Paris (en duo avec Nikki Yanofsky): Well, the next Quincy Jones production, which is not bad though, homogeneous effect in interaction with the two ladies and the band, it swings too awesome but somehow loses his direction at the end of the song and music playing only instrumental to himself. The duet is indeed harmonious but inconsequential because too similar.

9) La romance de Paris (en duo avec Thomas Dutronc): In my opinion the weakest song of the album, again a duet with no added value, the song a "song", softened, with no rough edges, runtergedudelt, boring.

10) La complainte de la butte: held by far the best song on the album, a quiet waltz melancholic style franzöischen busking. The voice of ZAZ reflects pure emotion again, in very quiet style. Like!

11) J'aime Paris au mois de mai (en duo avec Charles Aznavour) and it follows the worst song of the album. The duet with Charles Asznavour would be allowed to be better, even though the classic one of the classics of Aznavour is. The man has no voice in old age. And then sing with ZAZ! This is rather sing "against" ZAZ. That's not good. The Ouincy Jones production is irrelevant in good BigBand style. Without Charles, it would have been better, he has done no favors. A pity. Has only documentary value for me.

12) Paris, l'après-midi: produced as an American jazz club title, swinging big band, sings ZAZ also refreshing in this style and thus is least like your typical style, but like it exceptionally, one of the better tracks on the CD

13) J'ai deux amours: Finally times atrocious schmaltz-pop with shallow Säuselchor (we had before ...) in the background, something of grottig, but somehow typical of the album?.

Ergo: 5 go of 13 tracks as "good" by.
It remains at the end but a bad overall impression which really brings out no more than 2 stars for the life for me. "I do not like it".
Perhaps this is now but the last ZAZ, I'll buy.

PS: Positive should be mentioned for audiophile listeners that the CD is indeed significantly compressed, but not totkomprimiert so audibly. There will be no distortion as before on Recto Verso, although the DR values ​​are again between 5-8. (Grottig!)
