What is needed:
1x Android smartphone / tablet with or without NFC, Android 4.4 is the minimum requirement (I have a Motorola XT1032)

The connection via NFC:
If all apps are properly installed, the module you push the button on the Sony "core" so that enschaltet. The factory is located in the Core Verbindungdmodus, to say the device waits for another device with which it can connect. Enable NFC in smartphones and then the two are connected within a few seconds.
The connection without NFC:
Simply the core switch. Search in the Bluetooth menu to the core (usually "SWR10"), wait until the connection is established and then wars that already.

1x push the button queries the current status of the tape from (day mode, night mode)

Conclusion: At the price you get a lightweight, easy to use and fairly pretty fitness or activity tracker.
I also think that you can buy more tapes in many beautiful colors in packs of three.
