The Chicago Stars, Volume 3: The one I chose (Paperback)

Customer Review

Jane Darlington is not a woman like any other. She wishes above all to have a child and that at any same price whether to impersonate an escort girl in the eyes of Cal Bonner, the quarterback Stars Chicagos the edge of retirement and young people hungry for conquest . Jane does not want any parent to her baby; someone IQ below average to compensate for the brain of Jane's intellect because her child should not end in freak as it was in his youth.
But Cal is far from a bovine and will quickly realize the trap into which it is falling. Beside himself, he returns the acts of Jane in the face and forces him to assume his choices in marrying until the baby is born because it is impenssable for Cal to abandon its very illegitimate offspring.
It will therefore lead to it despite his family home in a lost corner that the city of Salvation and keep outside of any external contact. Jane, to meet its Managerial Responsibilties has no option but to comply with these absurd rules to do so forgiving.
You'll understand that this is not the great love between the two of them which hate. Cal is a big brute, boorish, maldroit and does not hide his disgust face the young woman of 34 years omnubilée by her career and professional success.
However, Jane has a strong character and is far from being done by the rancor of quarterback who will eventually adopt it and its foibles.
The Cal family is not left out and through his own existential crisis resulting clash, twists and laughs.
Susan Elizabeth still has laid us a treat to be savored without moderation and without falling into repetition. It is true that some passages may seem far-fetched but it's also what makes the charm of the novel. For cons, the tone is a bit more serious than the previous episode, humor is that many months now I have found damage. But that did not spoil anything pleasure of reading that never fell in rose water. The Adventures of Chicagos Stars are far from over with the upcoming release of Volume 4.
