I rate the CD and not the packaging, so as it should be !!!
This album is the best thing that Machine Head have ever brought out, I will not do it on her album "Burn My Eyes" down, but MH has this refined their sound completely and their own signature is always visible, what one of just too many albums / bands can not say. Yes, the tracklist is very short, but the songs are mostly long, and now we have reached a point: With 10:37 min. is "Clenching the Fists of Dissent" is the longest track on the album and I génisse every second of it, because he did not abschlafft and bored but doubled the pace and screws attracts well. "Beautiful Mourning" is exactly of the same kind, just a little harder, because here you will regle quite surprised and gets a nasty reef / double bass / Drumm-mace in the face !!!
"Astetics of Hate" is a showcase of the album, because Phil Demmel & Robb Flynn Groven their guitars until it's smoking, drummer Dave McClain shows us his ausergewöhnliche quality and after that the Teufelsduo Demmel / Flynn play in Rage in their solos! "Now I Lay Thee Down" is beginning with the best song on the album with a guitar riff bombs, then the speed is slightly throttled (not long) and now unleashes Flynn his perfect sung chorus (goosebumps total)! In "slanderous" sings / log Flynn on Voruteile and injustices, the track is again faster than its predecessor and the reef / Stupid Group knows how to spread Thrill & Groove because they are masters of their instruments, ABSOLUTE HAMMER THE SONG !!! "Halo" is in good old "Davidian" and "Empire" style (you can hear the riffing), is slowly going and the bomb explodes seconds at 0:55. sodas remains off to think of any one any time! This is Machine Heads own style and damn, I love him !!! "Wolves" takes a long time, is awesome, but is also fast and important you never have the feeling that it is monotonous! So we want to see: hard / grovvende riffs, fast / brutal drumms and a singing / shouting the is unparalleled (Respect !!!). With "A Farewell to Arms", the boys let angehn quiet, clean vocals of the most bitter / quietest art (the text is devastating) but now it gets loud again (would have been boring ;-)) that bitter song against weapons / genocide.
Conclusion:
The Machine Head have remained steadfast over the years and have their own style developed / refined I find brilliant, because we do not need yet another metalcore mayfly the Iron Maiden / Metallica nacharmt in effeminate shape to the thick clay to make, which is just sad !!! But this album seems to show all the haters a large middle finger and stamps all in the ground. A masterpiece that is without equal and should be in every collection Metal Thrash!
