I tested on a recent configuration (motherboard MSI Z87-Gaming with Intel G45 chipset USB 3.0 8 C220 Series and Xpredator case with USB 3.0 front panel connector) thanks to CrystalDiskMark software, HD Tune and ATTO Disk Benchmark.
In Windows 7, the access times are close to those of an SSD (0.3ms against 0.1ms). Regarding rates, certainly I do not reach the score of 240 MB / s maximum promised by the manufacturer, but the transfer rates are excellent:
- The files whose size is between 64KB and 8MB: 204 MB / s read and 185 MB / s write
- On file 32 KB: 165 MB / s read and 147 MB / s write
- Those of 16kB: 119 MB / s read and 122 MB / s write
- Those 8ko: 74 MB / s read and 72MB / s write
All of these data is the same as the key is formatted as NTFS or exFAT.
128GB provides a comfortable capacity to store all of your data (documents, music, pictures and HD videos). No more endless collection of interchangeable USB to watch your divx or your family photos.
SECURITY SOFTWARE:
The Sandisk Secure Access 2 supplied software (but whose use is not mandatory), provides sufficient security by creating an encrypted key in this container (AES 128 bits). It protects its files and encrypts on the files by dragging them into the software window. Entering a definable password is required to access this software and all your encrypted files.
The advantage of this operation is that you can copy and use the files normally outside the folder (useful for example to read his divx on its internet box).
A code provided in the box entitles one year free subscription, the offer RescuePRO Deluxe Recovery Software, utility to recover deleted files on your digital media.
I recommend this large key to securely store all your documents, while enjoying an unrivaled speed to a USB key.
