One year before Michael Jackson with his solo album "Off The Wall", whose disco hits stormed the charts, astonished the world, he threw with his brothers a Cream Pies on the market, which was very successful at the time, but today even by diehard Jackson fans will be overlooked. Outgrown its infancy of Motown, the guys changed over to Legacy where initially the songwriters Gamble & Huff took it under her wing and they ceded a few unspectacular songs ("Enjoy Yourself", etc.). In "Destiny" allowed the boys then for the first time in your (then almost 10 years!) The music biz history, even hold a pen, and the result is in my view, a number of songs that at all at the best recordings Michaels . include Even before Electronic sound and drum machine the Jacksons provide here a sound between Philly, Funk and Disco Era, which is fun. The opener "Blame It On The Boogie", has such a straight beat, who does not go along there's probably deaf or apparently dead. Michael celebriert here the real soul, he sings enthusiastically as rarely in his later career, just pure humor. On the very same level of the passionate ballad is to settle in the port. Track 03 then, although not as strong as 1 + 2, radio and provides vocals in the style of a mid-70s Stevie Wonder. Okay, Track 04, an actually pretty cool disco number, a little too much protracted, what the overall impression of the album some harm (hence 4 stars). But who weiterzappt, lands in title song "Destiny", which is unique in the Jackson catalog in its form, as very unusual for Michael (acoustic guitar intro !?), but really strong! Track 06 follows in Chilly Philly Sound, a very good albeit unspectacular song, as well as the disco song "All Night Dancin '". The final song in turn belongs next track 1,2 and 5 of the strongest on the disk. A loose song (one would rather assign the O'Jays as the Jacksons) rounds off the album in a nice way. All in all so slow hanging out a recommended purchase for Jackson fans, which Bad and Thriller to his neck. But also a good tip for Old School Soul fans who may not like Jackson so. Those able to satisfy itself that there is sometimes another (real!) Jackson gave, with a gifted voice!
