Especially the album - Falling Into Infinity - helped me a lot to adjust myself in the future on such abstract music arrangements. It opened my quasi the door for more, because little later I was able to personally experience a huge surge of creativity for me. Often is also spoken in this connection of mind-manifesting music, as a kind of music that the listener fully revealed only after repeated intensive listening as a whole, or as here at Dream Theater with each listen NEW opens. You can hear the millions of notes that regularly often up to five exceptional musicians on their albums at breathtaking speed and play down, always something new out. Say, Dream Theater plays music that never gets old, but especially never boring, because in the individual songs always incredibly much happening, and extreme cycle and change of style are present. So on 'Falling Into Infinity.
The cover is somewhat reminiscent - Pink Floyd - which is not surprising, since none other than Storm Thorgerson was involved in the artwork. Musically, it is a journey through all prog rock and neo-prog rock landscapes, with many catchy heavy metal riffs and solos, which were metered hardness this time a bit down. With - Hollow Years, Take Away My Pain and Anna Lee - contains - Falling Into Infinity - also three excellent quiet and balladesque inspired songs to eye closure, and with - New Millenium - and Trail Of Tears - also located two longer songs on the album which also still like to live are the band for good.
Falling Into Infinity - is thus the healthy contrast to the otherwise very hard and extremely sprawling music of Dream Theater, and the ideal entry Album to then about the same accessible albums - slowly - Images And Words, Octavarium and a dramatic turn of events the very complex albums - Scenes From A Memory, Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulance, Awake, Black Clouds & Silver Linings - and the toughest album - Train Of Thoughts - grope.
