The invention of the Heavy Metal

Master of Reality (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Black Sabbath's Master of Reality is an epochal masterpiece of rock history. Why? The secret of this album is the sound.
He is timeless and unique for its time of origin (1971) as it is not of this world. Uninitiated can not nearly indicate the actual time of origin during the audition. Some even consider it a work that until the 1990s may have been possible in the form and characteristic style, while every other rock music is immediately qualified "antique" from this era as. What Black Sabbath casually succeed here is nothing less than the invention of the "Heavy Metal" as a subgenre of hard rock. Of course the two previous albums have pointed the way, but who listens carefully recognizes that both the first work, and Paranoid, yet the spirit of heavy blues rock (Cream, Blue Cheer, Vanilla Fudge) breathe.
Only on Master of Reality but the gloomy, heavy, metaphysical sound, the Sabbath is famous made, poured into its final, abstract form. All subsequent sub-genre of heavy metal ("Doom", "Death", "Speed", "Nu" -. Metal have their historical nucleus highlights of the album are "Sweat Leaf", "After Forever", "Children of the Grave" and "Into the Void". There are the "heaviest" song in the history of music, the Riffmmaster Tony Iommi wrote here.
Serve with the gloomy ending lyrics of Geezer Butler perfectly.
The official contemporary music criticism was taken aback and responded almost without exception, shaking his head.
Only decades later the central music historical significance of this brilliant work was appreciated. If ever there was something on the planet ahead of his time, then it's "Master of Reality" by Black Sabbath. Case Closed!
