White Storm (Paperback)

Customer Review

Meanwhile the translation and publication of "Blue Labyrinth", here is my review of the last book featuring the famous detective of the FBI.
First "White Storm" is a little different trilogies "Diogenes" and "Helena".
Indeed we find in this novel a more reserved and thoughtful Pendergast.
Moreover Aloysius can not find Vincent D'Agosta in this opus but Corrie Swanson with whom he had investigated in "The croaking of the night" and had reappeared in "Descent into hell."
Everything starts in London August 30, 1889.
That day Conan Doyle meets Oscar Wilde who tells it a horror story where a grizzly bear had killed eleven prospectors in Roaring Fork in Colorado.
More than a century later, Corrie Swanson who came to the Institute of Criminal Justice John Jay discovers that story and decides to use it for his thesis.
After writing to Pendergast that sits in the south of France, she went to Roaring Fork that has become a chic resort of winter sport.
Indeed, the prospectors were unearthed from the old cemetery because new homes are to be built and Corrie hope to examine the skeletons.
She initially obtained the agreement of Stanley Morris police and the refusal of Ms Kermode, the patron saint of the city.
Corrie decides to ignore and goes at night in the warehouse where the coffins are exhibited.
She is caught in the act and put behind bars.
Fortunately Pendergast pulls of this mess.
A thrilling adventure begins I will not tell you of course.
I have always dreamed that the authors do intervene Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes in an adventure of Pendergast which for me is as stated in my foreign language: "Some excellent clones and imitations of Sherlock Holmes" Holmes of XXI century.
Well I used !!!
In summary, this novel is a great Preston and Child, and I looked forward to the next.
Adanson Marco.
