The masterpiece of Blur

The Great Escape (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After three good, but not outstanding albums "Leisure", "Modern Life Is Rubbish" and "Parklife" the musicians of the British pop band Blur is with "The Great Escape" succeeded their absolute masterpiece. The first single "Country House" knew an intelligent text, an ingenious melody, a very successful event and huge inventiveness to convince, but has raised fears the attentive listener, a la another Britpop album "Parklife" purposed to get. But far from it, "The Great Escape" convinces with a lot of new and fresh ideas and stylistically varied songs, each of which represents one a small masterpiece. The highlight, however, who makes a good album to an absolute masterpiece is also accomplished in "The Great Escape": In spite of different and varied songs its own distinctive atmosphere builds up while listening to the CD, which takes each caught anew the handset , in which he can let yourself fall. Therefore, it is actually almost blasphemous, particularly emphasized even individual songs here, but the short blast "Globe Alone", the marvelous "He Thought Of Cars" and the wacky "Mr Robinson And His Quango" exemplify some of the ways that blur explore with this brilliant work.
