The second match of the boys from Aylesbury already sounds much more independent than the often compared with Genesis debut Script for a Jester's Tear. For me Fugazi was the first contact with this band sometime before now 30 years. At the time I had with Progressive Rock not so much at the hat, the plate had been recommended to me by a colleague. And then the first bars of Assassing, the driving oriental-inspired rhythm, the extended instrumental intro to the first line of text I am the Assassing. Fishs organ has anything but convinced me at first contact, but the music made me directly drawn into its spell. And it does today. Fugazi is a collection of seven top classics of the band, not a single failure for me. Musically Fugazi is never reached climax in the early creative phase of this band. In the cast of Fish nothing better should be more coming with the H phase (Steve Hogarth) the band, I do not want to compare this disc. It is regrettable, however, that, as far as I know from this record after getting out of h something could be heard in the live program of Marillion ever again, but this is another piece of evidence to me how much lived this Fish's presence and was tailored to him.
In the remastered Special Edition you can still get a few goodies on CD2. Including the version of "Three Boats Down from the Candy", which was included on the Market Square Heroes EP. In addition, the Maxi version of "Cinderella Search" (Assassing B side) and a AlternativeMix of Assassing which has already been published on the Single Collection. Additionally, there is some demo versions, but who have significant work-in-progress status.
Conclusion: The bonus CD drops in their value over the script for a Jesters Tear something and is only for fans and completists of further leading interest. The most important part here is, however, the original CD that deserves full 5 star plus. For me one of the best albums of the 80s.
