Story:
Unlike its predecessor, this time you have not the ability to pick his character itself, which I initially found a bit unfortunate, but in the end the new protagonist Cassia is well chosen. She has a say, interesting character and a moving background story. The main part of the game is actually at Cassias vendetta against Marwan, the ruler of Mengbilla. The player has different areas to capture Marwan's weakening influence in order to defeat him can. The whole is kept in a rather gloomy atmosphere (since you just made to the side of evil plays) The idea of the story I found very good, but since you would still be able to expand much more. Side quests and events away from the conquest of action would not have been bad here. Besides, I had not personally feel that the decisions which you had during the game hit really big impact on the plot.
Gameplay:
Black Guards 2 is a tactical RPG, like its predecessor already. It thrives on character development and equipment of the heroes, but also by the turn-based battles. Here has compared to its predecessor not too much done, the principle is the same, but the maps in my opinion, have been upgraded with Zusaztfunktionen. For example, you can now determine the placement of its characters themselves or attach and defense cases, what the whole thing additionally funk. Unlike its predecessor, the increase system keeps no longer so strictly to the original DSA rules, which I liked very well in the first part. On the one hand understandable, since it is somewhat difficult for newcomers or non-DSA-players to understand, but for me as an old hare DSA wars just a shame. But I think Daedalic has achieved with the new, slightly modified augmentation system is a good compromise.
Graphics:
The graphics are very similar to the first part. The characters, maps and cutscenes in the cities are nicely animated and provide a credible and nice atmosphere. The animations are fluid and in particular the effects of the spell have it done to me personally. So an exploding fireball looks really impressive from there already.
Conclusion:
Black Guards 2 is its predecessor in most respects very similar, with slight improvements, the wonderful game in fit. The story is captivating, with a few unexpected twists. The characters are well chosen and beautifully set to music and bring the Atmosspähre over credible. The combat scenarios are varied with new settings, creatures, and items that you can use. The only drawback for me is that the story occurs in the main part of the game, unfortunately, far into the background and only the conquest counts, because I think were good opportunities verschwended. And of course the custom, überbepunktete increase system, but that's really critical at a high level. All in all, Black Guards 2, as well as its predecessor, a great game and I can recommend it to anyone of the DSA, tactics and RPG elements like.
