As an absolute Professor Layton and Ace Attorney fan (from both series I have all the games played), I had to play the course definitely get. 2010 was announced for the first time and nearly four years later, I can finally hold in my hands.
But first thing first: By quite lucky I have the game yesterday, received one day before the day of publication, and of course I also losgespielt immediately. Overall, I am now arrived at nearly 10 hours and I think I'm now able to write a review.
Graphics:
All who played Ace Attorney Dual Destinies or Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy are, and graphics instantly familiar. It's really well done, and the 3D effect is very well used. Although it is (probably because the game in Japan has been released already two or three years ago) slightly worse than in Dual Destinies or The Legacy of Aslant, yet they really succeeded. The characters do not appear too unnatural and all in all, the graphics are really well done.
Sound:
Well, now it depends on whether one is more or Layton Wright fan. If I had to choose, I would prefer Phoenix, even if I really even like very much Layton. Honestly I was a little surprised that the majority of the music rather one of the Layton games where it really Capcom was responsible for the sound. In court proceedings, however, we still hear the old accustomed Ace Attorney music, only in the investigations (in the game of course outweigh) the also successful Layton music is used. I would have been happy if that would have been to hear a little more from Phoenix, but the music is still more than succeeded.
Voice actor:
Many will wonder why I take this point, but I wanted it but shortly appealing. While Professor Layton always had a German dubbing (except in the very first part) Phoenix received only in the final part and this was unfortunately only in English. For this reason, the spokesman of Layton and Luke should be well known. When I heard the Speaker of Maya and "Nick" for the first time, so I could not make friends with them. Maya sounds too childish and Phoenix voice I had imagined getting a little brighter for me. However, I think it's still nice that even Ace Attorney even has a German synchronization and one probably. Find other the voices yes appropriate :)
Story:
Well, in short it is about the city Labyrinthia, a mysterious book that contains the history Labyrinthias and to Sophie, a girl who is haunted by witches and accused at the same time just to be this - a witch. At the time of the Game, where I just got here I can see the story, of course, not yet fully evaluate but I can already say that it has once again built up very well thought out and exciting, as we are used to from Level 5 and Capcom halt ,
More Layton or more Phoenix ?:
The question of whether the game is more for Layton or more for Ace Attorney fans, you can not answer, I think it is equally suitable for both fans of the professor as well as for fans of our lawyer so. However, if you, the question arises whether it Phoenix Wright's share in the game itself more Professor Layton or more, I would clearly tend to Layton. While there are sometimes long court hearings and we must engage our lawyer frequently times under the arms, but still outweighs the laytonische in the game.
