Arts Martians - Limited Edition (CD)

Customer Review

Six years after Season 5, Marseille's return put some order in the mercantile swamp what happened to the French rap. Malgrè Freeman's departure in 2008, throughout the album there is absolutely no question of bitterness, of rancaeur or any squabbles, if only for that, this is a fresh wind blowing over current production. The clan remains welded, like the last rampart Marseille.

Close enough, its intensity, its relative darkness and combative atmosphere, The School of micro silver, the album is mostly known for the place of increasing importance taken by the oriental sounds in the beats (Benkei & Minamoto, Habit with Faf Larage or Pain Au Chocolat).

Coté distribution, Imothep sign virtually any compositions and Akhenaton excels on Marvel (among others) and the album bathes in a pretty New Yorker atmosphere that goes very well with the group. Obviously everything is not perfect and there are some burdens (Give Me That Love, Spartan Spirit, My Ink, If Bitter Feast or After), but this is a far superior record to the previous two.

If L'Ecole du Micro Silver will remain forever as the best album of the group, the Arts Martians do not have much to envy. Integrates a group that does not waste time to go ogle the side of Rn'B to sell, here that forces, in any case, respect.
