For Headphones: Sound is relatively to other (even cheaper) headphones rather moderate to insufficient. Little bass, but strong mids and highs, which does not exactly sound quality promises. At the headphones does not enclose the entire ear, but lies down on it, and is absolutely not suitable for eyeglass wearers, because these to press after a while and start pain. Here the Beyerdynamic is essential at an advantage both to the sound as well as the ears.
To Microphone: The microphone is active Kondesatormikro and must be supplied in accordance with the sound card with current. The now common sound cards support the almost all. Not suitable it is for connection to a mixer or sound card, which does not provide the necessary power. The transmission and quality is very good here. Unlike MMX2 there in this Headseit hardly a pop sound and the voice is natural and pure transfer (without noise). I use from the headset and as an alternative to MMX2 to stream an Internet radio.
Cable and switch: The cable is more than sufficient also has a switching unit for the microphone and a volume control for the headphones. Because switch for micro I do not use, because it generates an extremely unpleasant clacking when you press the switch. To which the switching unit is too far down when the cable is rolled. Here you can but remedy, in which one fixes the long cable with cable ties to the same amount.
Conclusion: The headphones are not the true and not necessarily suitable for eyeglass wearers. The microphone is absolutely great and can certainly compete with headsets in the price range of 200-500 euros. The set itself is very stable and is expected to be long-lived (there have only recently). I use it occasionally as an alternative to MMX2, which to me personally but a lot more sympathetic than the Sennheiser.
