What can you write about Edith Piaf still what not any halfway musically interested person knows?
More by chance I found myself on this double CD and bought it because you "have to have something" by Edith Piaf!
It is undoubtedly one of the greatest voices of the millennium, and therefore it is obligatory, their (supposedly) own clenched best songs.

I want to say that this kind of music very well and I like some of the classic LA VIE EN ROSE, or or NON JE NE RIEN REGRET accompany me for decades and therefore for me now simply "mandatory" was, this double CD for sale ,
Digital processed they sound as if Mdme Piaf had recently been in the studio; especially the 50s songs were amazingly fresh polished. Of course you have to make a few compromises - especially the 40s songs show but that was still the then state of the art in its infancy.
Nevertheless, the sound quality is just outstanding! Since I'm not a great connoisseur of woman Piaf, I can not say about the song selection so much, but there are all the classics from her contained and certainly much more of what is "important".

A small booklet with short bio rounds off the collection. I have two plates at a time by heard and even discovered more, dreamlike Chan songs.
What a tragic life, similar to Janis Joplin or Amy Winehouse, had this petite person experience. Nevertheless, she told German television in 1962, she "would do everything again so" and most "music and love" in life and appreciate "everything else would hate" ... Conclusion: Whether there is really for fans to discover new things, I doubt it, but the "normal" music listeners should make this collection in the closet; There are moods, where you can enjoy this music.
