I prefer actually to write short reviews. For I verily, far from to describe myself as an expert, especially since the topic Television a complex actual especially if you look a little more busy than the average customer.
I'll split my review thus: a very short for those who are in a hurry and one for the bookworms among you. This review refers to the 50 "- Plasma.
So here the short version:
- Knack sharp image with Blu Ray or HD
- Motion blur is not visible
- High viewing angle stability
- High plasticity
- Speakers absolutely sufficient (please do not expect miracles sound)
- Numerous image adjustment options (which also NECESSARY Video- more in the detailed review)
- With well-chosen picture settings hardly (due to design conditional) flicker / flicker
Now to my detailed review.
This Plasma TV is the third within 10 years. The first was a 42 "- HD Ready Plasma from Panasonic (price: 2,000 euros, buying was 2004). Unfortunately, this was broken after only 4 years, although he at that time not even 1/3 of the manufacturer's specified service life of 30,000 reached h diagnosis:. Panel A damage repair (exchange of panels, costs 850 euros) was not economical due to the temporary drop in prices therefore a new TV set was needed...
I decided in 2009 to buy a LED TV. The reason why I then chose LED was the fact that were struggling at the time, Plasma TV's still quite a lot with Einbrennproblemen; at least that was definitely the case for my Panasonic. And on top of that because even a game console should be used only with an LCD or LED came into question. Due to the pale colors including catastrophic black level of LCD fell out of the LED was there. This was a Philips 46 PFL 5605 (purchase price: 900 euros). A Direct LED (yes, really !!), which would be provided to me until a few days faithful service and still afford. He actually had a nice picture, great colors, by direct- LED technology a really good black level and good contrast, even illumination. Probably, this unit some of the to be acquired today EDGE LED's still in the shadows, at least when it comes to image quality. However, I noticed the faint vertical stripes image "ed" - not permanently, but also not rare. Constantly In Football games however. Furthermore, this device had a problem apparently so, the color of moving subjects evenly darzustellen- colors flickered quite clear. And as that is how it is: when you see it again, it looks you always- and annoying over time. However, I want to mention that I look pretty much.
As I played with the idea anyway, to create me a 50 inch television, I started abzuklappern large format stores. With the following result: the time I could have used more meaningful.
The quality of advice of 99% of the employees of major domestic markets is alarming: even terminology as Clouding were there some foreign words. Time they did not know their own products, then they wanted to persuade me, my Philips TV would be an EDGE LED. Moreover, over and over again the same superficial and meaningless phrases like "Samsung is finally world leader" "EDGE LEDs have no problems with uniform illumination" etc etc!
But schliesslich- when I no longer even so rechnete- I found him: the knowledgeable staff of a TV department. Really. And he replied to me on the question of what he could give me recommend TV for my needs:

You'Re Welcome ?? Has he actually said PLASMA? No Einheitsbrei- chatter as the felt 100 employees who were trying in advance to advise me, and all I wanted a Samsung LED to sell? I was irritated. Especially since I told him at the beginning of the conversation, that's limited my budget and the most affordable Plasma, he could offer me was over 300 euros above and, moreover, a Panasonic was. Not that I Panasonic TV's poor make wel- but now I had once made a bad experience. The reasoning of the seller convinced me: even illumination (logically), homogenous image, natural colors, crisp sharpness. The higher energy consumption, he mentioned ebenso- this but is secondary for me. Some readers will be asking. Why has he not re-bought a direct- LED TV when he was so satisfied yet? Quite simply: DIRECT LED is now almost exclusively in the premium segment to be found and thus very expensive.
Thus I left again with empty hands the business. But with all the more important information.
More or less by chance I discovered this LG plasma. The previously good reviews increased my interest.
Enough Vorgeplänkel- we get to the point: Delivery was fast. Unwrapped, installed, connected, turned on. Disappointment spread: I had at best a boob. Flicker / flicker're in Plasma TVs are nothing new, but so extreme I had not remembered it. Plasma TV's have since further developed in all these years not at all ?? The picture was not good. The colors were also very strange.
I also knew that I expect no panacea konnte- already not for my budget. But I already expected an increase to my Philips LED at this time was nothing to see, on the contrary.
I did not resign and went forth over the image settings. I was pretty clear, these are really necessary the numerous adjustment possibilities also. I have so far not even believed that the image quality is so so significantly better. For thus was the ugly duckling to beautiful swan. As mentioned above, the picture is sharp crack in HD / Blu-Ray, the colors are brilliant (but not unnaturally loud), and the flickering could be reduced to such an extent that it is very difficult to perceive even for the trained eye. The viewing angle stability is generally above average in plasma TV's, and since the LG is no exception. The SD picture is also very good, no comparison to LED TV's, especially with regard to the image sharpness.
In short: I am absolutely thrilled.
And again: they are not satisfied or even disappointed with the image, change the image settings before storing the television again and send it back. Perhaps they are after ten minutes already significantly more satisfied. Tip: have a look at various forums for HIFI. There are many settings to find, you might at least serve as a base. Finally, everyone has their own definition of appealing image quality. But I also needed after that turn to some "screws".
I have invested a total of 4 hours for the settings, and I promise you: it was truly worth it and now I'm glad that I can call these plasma my own.
UPDATE 02/25/2014: Due to popular demand I post here once my picture settings. However, I want to point out again that I prefer these settings and image settings now times are subject to personal taste.

I hope I could thus helping them to improve image one or the other.
A little tip: do not attempt to use the image of an LED TVs as the basis for the settings of the plasma image. This is definitely wrong. The image of Plasma TVs is simply not gaudy garish but rather homogeneous. And that can or should try not too.
