here my subjective feelings, after about 2 weeks use of LG 42LA6918:
First, let me say that I am very well satisfied with the overall package.
For the, in my opinion, the most important criteria the following:
Picture:
Fantastic!
If one can speak of dark spots in bright images, then these are so low in the corners that you have to really concentrate to perceive them at all can (absolutely no criterion that would justify a non-business)!
The colors and contrast are great, not too lax and not too hard (sometimes you see at Samsung that people on TV have red faces). Otherwise you can easily readjust the picture but assistant.
I also have been able to see any stuttering / artefacts / errors in the image. Neither the TV shows, even while playing with ner PS3.
Contrary to my fear that I would some "flaws" for ever and ever catch the eye the all-clear: get in there disturbs nothing!
Sound:
I was pleasantly surprised at how much sound from this sleek, lightweight device comes out, I was already thinking before buying, which Soundbar should I buy additionally. The topic has been done, since I am not sound junkie. I've been thinking it important that the Color Shift fits that enough bass is played and you can rotate the device sometimes listening to music a little louder. And I must say I am with what the LG delivers truly satisfied. The sound is not too shallow and sounds hardly tinny as it is just typical of this sleek, contemporary things (have the business different devices "test-heard" and to a device from Philips has since none of the devices presented as outstanding . But there is one with the LG as a normal user for TV / console / music already really well served (Samsung UE40F6500 are there compared a worse picture from!).
3D:
Again, I must say, I never thought that the conversion of normal 2D Input to 3D works so well. If you look in HD, the result is truly remarkable! Content that has been specially designed for 3D, unfortunately I could to Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 so far not test. But GT5 is already really strong in 3D ;-)
Again, I have to compare the LG (with passive 3D technology) and a Samsung UE40F6500 test looked with Active Shutter technology. I personally präferiere the passive technique, because the look is more pleasant! Not because of the glasses (the shutter glasses of Samsung are honestly really very easy), but rather because of the calmer image of the LG device. The shutter device from Samsung always had a slight flicker, which may perhaps not disturb the ones that others will drive the long term but in the madness, or at least a headache. Apart from a Samsung glasses 4 times as expensive as an LG-glasses.
Style:
I believe we have a TV set to be as a central device visually stunning in a living room. These include quality materials, modern design of the screen and walk and not least a vanishingly slim bezel.
LG has all this complies with the LA6918! The whole unit looks very valuable and feels through the aluminum frame also just to. A salesman in an electrical shop drove it further and showed me the robustness of the device by pressing for comparison with the hand on the panel of Samsung's (direct short-term deformations / discoloration visible), then tap the LG panel yes almost hit and you could see nothing still.
The very important point for me is the narrow frame (up to the first illuminated pixel extreme edge of the frame) also vollstens met with a measure of 12 mm. Since I know nothing narrower known in this price range.
Connectivity:
Today also not insignificant for the many "digital natives" among us, is the connectivity of the device.
Set up the network connection is virtually on its own, I have to say anything else.
My smartphone (Samsung S3) is the unit immediately and will also equal to throw everything without problems over the "AllShare" button in the gallery / MP3 / Video Player / YouTube app on the device.
The LG Remote App also works smoothly and reliably (because I was before but very skeptical about whether the app fast times "quick-and-dirty" together geschustert was not able to say: we even ham ne Extra App for TV).
The meaning of the NFC Stickers for tagon service I honestly do not quite understand, because the connection via AllShare already served its purpose. So I have to deal with again in more detail at ease. But I can easily connect me with the stickers.
Just my laptop was the TV not yet without the extra SmartShare software (is probably a setting in the shallows of Windows7 be because the laptop is also directly on the TV). With SmartShare software works but also this properly!
Remote Control:
The Magic Remote is a fun part, so that the operation also makes really fun. Especially during settings or in the Smart TV matters you travel just faster and more comfortable with the gesture-controlled cursor.
The only downer:
It just lacks a few buttons on the remote. A key for the electronic TV guide (EPG / guide), as well as a button to select the source, I would like to see much. So you have the mouse Always open a menu and then click the appropriate button (just takes a little longer).
Now even my only point which kept me from giving the device 5 star:
I can not find via the built-in DVB-S receiver previously all channels (RTL, VOX, SPORT1, Euro Sport absent).
With my old no-name receivers I've found everything easily do a search.
Now I really bite my teeth almost and have already tried almost everything. But the hope I have not given up!

One last thing that has always irritated me in my research:
The designations LA6918 and LA6928 refer loud a Saturn employees on the same device! The difference would probably only the fact that the 6928 dealer unit would. What he meant exactly it - I know nothing!
