Train of Thought (Audio CD)

Customer Review

... Gave bandleader Mike Portnoy to record, making it says it all, because harder and darker, we have not yet experienced the Frickelkönige.
To be honest acts here and there a little put on, especially since James LaBries' head voice nmeistens not really wants to harmonize with the Riffkanonaden.
Yet numbers (Candlemas and Black Sabbath anyone?) Make as "As I am" or "This Dying Soul" go (second section of Portnoy 'Twelve Step Suite) for Astonished faces especially when so unusually straight to work. We have all heard of them actually do not! Although the solos sound again breathtaking, but because they are pulled back in some songs like a chewing gum in the length also breathtakingly boring.
Thus, the semi-ballad "Endless Sacrifice" is deprived of unnecessary Dudelgequietsche significantly in intensity and also the instrumental "Stream of consciouness" can not compete with the "Ytse Jam" or "Dance of Eternety" for this reason.
Really good guys are (once again) when they ascend the Epikprogramm. "In the Name of God" may sound again neatly heavy but in comparison to the other "Train of Thought" titles melodies purely drill themselves into the brain and because as soon not want to back out.
So it is possible!
