Trnd setters: The Test!

About Trnd.com I had the pleasure to test the electric toothbrush Oral B Professional Care 3000 unhurriedly. The device has moved about two weeks ago with us and I think we can even draw a first summary.

Packing:
The packaging was very appealing. A dark blue box with a cutout, through which one could directly see the new toothbrush. In the box are a few pointers to the equipment features of the device.

Equipment / Accessories:
The test package equipment was of course something lush, than the commercial packaging. In fiscal / Internet package containing the actual toothbrush, 4 brush (Precision Clean), a (very compact) charging station and a storage for 4 brush.
The toothbrush has 3 different cleaning modes (Clean, Sensitive and polishing), a Professional Timer (4x30 sec) and a visual Pressure sensor, the red lights at excessive pressure.
The accessories is extensive, there are many different brush heads, a tongue cleaner, interdental cleaner and even a brush for children (recommended age 3 years)

Installation and charging:
The installation was self-explanatory and therefore very simple. Simply put the storage box on the charging station, plug in charger, make toothbrush it 'done. The brush can create wonderful in the four compartments of storage, which even has a lid and brush protects against dust.
Charging went quite quickly, were recommended during the first load 14 h, so generous overnight. However, the toothbrush was delivered already charged a little, so that she was ready to go. Charging is indicated by a green flashing light. If the battery is almost empty, lit a red light and recalls in time to load again. You can put the toothbrush repeatedly to the charging station, it can not be overloaded. So there is always all together and ready to hand.

Instructions' adequate description of:
The instruction manual was unfortunately open some wishes. I found them too short, there still remained the question regarding the use of accessories open. However, the features are well explained and given a brief cleaning instructions. The guide is supplemented by a few figures which are additional to explain the assembly and clean the toothbrush.

Terms:
The device is very comfortable to hold. It's slimmer than the toothbrushes from other manufacturers. However, the vibrations are very strong and used to, at first you get the feeling that the whole head is buzzing. The sound is already borderline, but only for the users themselves. Outside the bathroom you can not hear much of it.
The toothbrush can maneuver quite well after a few days settling in and you can very well achieve the slim design all parts of the mouth. Unfortunately, it's a bit annoying that you have to keep your mouth closed during brushing, otherwise toothpaste examined their own ways. (Due to the vibrations of course even more than with any manual toothbrush)
Battery performance is okay, it is enough for two people without charging about 4 days. But since you can not overload the brush and therefore can always leave on the loading station, one need the battery power actually worry. The manufacturer indicates that the battery has a life of approximately 7 years. For this course I can not say anything, so far everything is working perfectly.
The cleaning performance of the toothbrush is excellent. The teeth feel cleaner and smoother per se, as while brushing with a manual toothbrush, they are also a very short time indeed bright. I do not smoke, but like to drink some coffee and had slight discolorations on the teeth. After only two weeks have already become much smaller and the teeth appear whiter than before. (This is also the manufacturer's promises seem to agree: The toothbrush is up to two times remove more plaque than a manual toothbrush)
The individual functions are interesting, but not discussed in detail in the manual. My husband uses the toothbrush with the normal cleaning function, I myself in the Sensitive function, because my other is too strong. The polishing function has a slightly different motion than the other two. So far I have the latter rarely used with the Pro Bright attachment and could find no real difference to normal cleaning.
The timer is an ingenious invention (but probably nothing new). After about two weeks I have gotten used to the time, but I am usually a bit slow (which is probably not dramatic is ...). The end of the brushing time for a quadrant of the mouth is only signaled by a short stuttering sound. The end of the two minutes recommended brushing time by a slightly longer, stuttering sound.
The visual Pressure sensor lights up when you press too hard with a toothbrush on the teeth. I was amazed at how determined you actually have to press until the light is displayed. So far I had with my manual toothbrush, the problem that I have always cleaned something too hard and had so of course particularly looking forward to the Pressure sensor. However, it has actually never shone on me. (I only tested once when the lamp concerned)
In the test package was in addition to the Precision Clean brush heads still a Pro Bright- and 3 Sensitive brush included. The latter I have put back by a few days aside, because it is just too soft. All brush heads have an indicator bristles that show through discolor when it's time for a new brush. So you will not miss it, to change in time.
We would like to have brought its own Aufsteckkopf for our son, but we think that he is still too small for this toothbrush with its two years. For this, the vibrations are too strong and he would probably get rather scared. So we wait another year, as long as the toothbrush should probably hold.

Cleaning of equipment and accessories:
The cleaning of the toothbrush is very easy. You will after brushing under running water held then removed the brush head and also held with the open side facing up under the faucet. The toothbrush should be placed only well dried on the charging station, because water could get between station and cable and damage the electronics. In any case, cleaning is barely more effort than cleaning a normal toothbrush.

Conclusion / Gesammtnote:
In conclusion I would say that this toothbrush is very good, but not perfect. I sometimes have to grab the need again for my hand toothbrush, simply because the vibrations are very strong and cause an unpleasant noise in my head.
The cleaning action is but in my opinion unbeatable, the teeth are cleaner, smoother and brighter with time. As my manual toothbrush can not compete effectively.
As a final grade I would give the toothbrush a smooth 2. I would consider the price even with, this would, however, down a little, because I 129 much money on such a device find, even more so when one considers the cost of the brush. (4 brushes cost about 12-15)
