Tyler and Thor!

Patrick Doyle was an interesting choice as a composer for the first Thor movie. The second part should now take over Brian Tyler, a musical action guarantees when it comes to film music. So at first glance, just right for the series. And indeed, the music made me feel very entrained in the film and the main theme was me for days on end in the ear. How the score now makes on CD?

Quantitatively, we typically get back a hefty dose 77 minutes Score.
The great Marvelfanfare of Tyler, which is used for each of the new Marvelfilme since this film, can be found at the very end of the CD, but in my opinion should be heard at the beginning! Toll is still short, rousing and epic. It also includes the new main theme for Thor. And that can see (or hear) leave, although Doyle's theme (of course) has been completely discarded. Even with Iron Man 3 showed Tyler what he has a talent for heroic power issues, this one is no different. The choir and the sweeping strings (the Tyler in all his scores used because Don Davis' Matrix has him probably very inspired) unfolded the piece of his strength. It is heard in the very first title (Thor The Dark World) and heard again and again throughout the score. Like the Avengers theme is this piece alone worth buying the CD.
But Tyler composed yet another recognition motifs, such as that of Loki, the very discreet, but sounds a little scary, so very appropriate. The villain Malekith receives a similar, oriental motif (more of a sound), as well as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 Tylers what will probably represent him as a kind of galactic terrorists ?! Because I would have rather wished a little more incisive motive, after all, Malekith was the film somewhat weak
After all, Tyler wrote another tune for Asgard, which unfortunately rarely is heard.

Otherwise, there are typical fare Tyler, Large, noisy action moments, a few calmer and pathetic moments in which Thor's main theme of a woman's voice is Performed. It sounds very nice, but unfortunately is reminiscent of the countless times, in which Mr room already used this (Gladiator is here mentioned as a prime example). Nevertheless, the CD has a nice Hörfluss and as little nugget heard in An Unlikely Alliance Alan Silvestris theme for Captain America. A moment that was already unbeatable in the movie!

Conclusion: A PowerCore, with a few weaknesses, but the overall result is very positive and convincing, not only for Media Ventures Friends a good soundtrack. Despite just barely five stars!
Since Tyler is now also set to music the second Avengers movie (why Silvestri is no longer allowed, I do not), I hope that he will use 1. Silvestris great Avengers theme and 2. its main themes for Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 precisely , Then again a little more musical continuity would come into the series
