The housing is made of relatively thin plastics. The lower housing part is flexible after disassembly without effort. The unscrewing the bottom is actually necessary if you want to upgrade the main memory! No additional flap more. More on this below.
The only real plus point is to see the screen. He's sharp and delivers accordingly good pictures.
The hard drive is incredibly loud. A constant hum and rattle (we also tried a second notebook and both have this deficiency), which is otherwise known by large HDD, although slightly attenuated but good to hear. The hard disk is fast at first glance, when accessing some patience is needed at times despite defrag.
The keyboard is used to getting used to - has never been the strength of Toshiba. Sometimes it comes down to how you meet the key. This makes writing not really enjoy. But since we usually use an external keyboard, which is not so strong like the weight.
Underground are the touchpad buttons. Depending on where you meet, the key for more than a millimeter must be pressed until the contact is created. Also they act altogether very loose. When looking up in the unit, we found that the touchpad buttons are firmly attached to the housing - everything from a single injection mold. Because of the construction, the keys hanging just kind of the housing. And the tiny buttons for the keys you have to stop meeting for now.
Evil is the wireless receiver also. Despite constant location are variations of "Excellent" to "Poor" on the agenda. At times, breaks despite current driver and the wireless contact completely. Both notebooks. We have provided a device from another manufacturer for comparison alongside the respective Toshiba NB. Consistently perfect reception!
Speaking of drivers. The driver provided by Toshiba are available partially scrap. Anyone who wants to set up or downgrade the system, which should have a look at all events at the component manufacturers.
Anyone who wants to upgrade the main memory, must first solve the tens of screws on the bottom side. Then pull out the DVD drive and solve the hidden through the drive last screw also. Who Smart Phone Tool, is a clear advantage. Because now that is clicked housing lower part has yet to be solved carefully. On Battery-contact, there is the final stumbling block: You have to press a tiny, extremely recalcitrant tab. Only then can the housing bottom part completely solve.
In addition to all the other problems, both notebooks are greased on first boot. Windows hanged himself. When second start at least the initial installation and commissioning went well.
We can nothing else to write this notebook as: THUMBS DOWN !!!
