- Waterproof, unlike the Apple Watch
- Stainless steel housing in a very nice (for me) form and color
- Not too big, since I have relatively narrow wrists
- Compatible with iOS
- All notifications to be pushed to the wrist (in contrast to many cheap watches that transmit only calls)
After I find the price for the Steel quite juicy (as opposed to normal Pebble twice as much) I was then but decided the Steel to order because their better response of the buttons was well attested to in various forums, and I just quality is important.
When I got the clock, I was really blown away. Processing is really very good, everything fits and feels consistent, you know really just Apple that. Ok to set up and start, everything goes very fast and is easy even for beginners feasible, then makes it really fun to read news on the wrist or as to let the next bus show by an appropriate app on the Pebble. The possibilities are really available with a variety, there are quite professionally made Watch Faces that look very beautiful and elegant. The Alblesbarkeit the clock improves it ever brighter in space, but to me the backlight has not so much, she has too much blue tint, which looks a bit cheap.
But now for probably the biggest problem of the Pebble:
After about 10 days use I noticed a "spoiled" Watchface fixed, this can be read at the beginning of a bit Rumdrücken on the buttons again show properly, but the problem was getting worse by the hour, so that the clock no longer read was, text was represented only pixelated. After a reset the clock and re-uploading the firmware and the same picture set.
In various forums is reported by this problem, apparently it is hardware related, that solve solder joints of the display. Exchange should indeed go fast, but in my eyes that is not portable, having to replace a 250 clock after 10 days, and who says that the new clock does not have this problem again. Good, exchange would possibly again possible, but in just one year warranty Pebble seems because not much confidence in their own product set.
Hence my opinion, Pebble should review the technique and a "durable" SmartWatch present as just also do other manufacturers. The Pebble does many things right, but also a gross mistake !!! Got my Pebble Steel therefore returned and will now await the use of Android Wear on iOS or Apple Watch
Hope the review could help one or the other.
