Especially the hanger, the title song "Imagine", lived in the original by the elegiac frugality of the Arrangement and the somehow into nothingness floating vocals.
Here the song loses everything that makes him, has become far too plump and fat, he can no longer lift off and fly.
The remaining Covers are overloaded unnecessarily, none of them is better than the original.
But where Herbie Hancock on the outside, good quality is mostly indoors, and is also true here. The musical execution may be described as a success. The question remains, why HH itself is doing something.
Music produced with passion definitely sounds different, that is not something that would be absolutely / had, you probably hoped for just good money with this project.
Conclusion: Not really bad, but totally unnecessary.

Addendum: "superfluous" is not a direct negative-laden word for me. The abundance is the one who fills life. The Necessary is the basic requirement, the surplus can thus be regarded as a luxury ;-)
