Unsustainable and unsuitable for electronic devices

I have bought this plug 3 years ago in a local hardware store.
Was common to disconnect from the grid to the Ernergieverbrauch for standby to reduce in use around the Gerätezoo in the living room (TV, receiver, PS3, DVD player, ...).

Made last when switching crackling noises and brought some equipment to crash.
The reason could be seen after opening: a contact was completely charred (s Photos.)
OK, the connected devices have built all switching power supplies and draw with it when switching a high current, operating all pull together but less than 500W.
Thus, definitely not suitable for such purposes, may be good for heaters etc. draw no inrush current.

The two points are awarded for the crisp shift feeling and the flat and over its competitors still handsomest (though not beautiful) design.

I have now decided to use a Merten 128427 plug with switch. Although quite ugly part, but makes a solid impression.
