Delivered the gimlet in plastic wrap and a plastic tube in which five different drills are supplied. The strengths vary from 0.6mm to about 1.6mm, so really very thin. A drilling of bolters in Warhammer 40k or weapons Inquisitor I managed so. Total chuck is included for all essays. Also purchased drill fit well. I had to buy a bigger example drills to drill holes for magnets at my tanks for Flames of War I (1: 100 scale). The drills are supplied nice and sharp and drill exactly, so absolutely modellbau suitable for precision work. Even if a proper, good fixation of models or parts for a precise work and good results is just as important.
ATTENTION: A chuck (the part into which the drills are inserted and fixed) is hidden in the handle! Therefore, in the first, fluted handle Unscrew the top times and look; because it is hidden. So far I have not yet had any "third drill", which would not fit into one of the drill chuck.
The biggest point of criticism is that the drill while fully made of metal, but still quite "cheap" acts (well, with the price bearable ...) and, now it comes, on the upper part, ie between the first checkered knob and the support ( "small plates"), squeaks and a slight imbalance has. Oil will hopefully remedy at least the squeaking. Luckily I notice from the imbalance nothing when drilling result. Therefore, I want it even more riding around :)
Another criticism is that absolutely came with no instructions.
Therefore:
- Unscrew the lower part
- Seek appropriate chuck for drill (possibly upper part unscrew as described above for corresponding chuck) and secure drill: the drill should when inserting into the chuck not totally Strack sit (be or even squeezed by force!), But not tens of millimeters Game have, but be loose inside. You develop a sense here quickly, as is right :)
Attach the lower part again and tighten until the drill is firmly fixed -. Have you completely screwed up and the drill slips out, you need a smaller chuck.
- Losbohren (with one hand, press on top of the "small plates" and turn the other on the lower fluted grip) and appreciate precisely LöcherŽ.
Like anything, a matter of practice.
CONCLUSION: I do not regret the investment and do not want to miss the tool. Especially at this price, recommended.
