this 2005 reissue of a concert of Van Der Graaf (which lost its passage Generator) at the Marquee in London is really beautiful and transcribes the ambiance of this fabulous concert group. The focus is on energy, and some pieces (such as the opening track Ship of fools) is almost similar to punk rock than progressive said. Moreover we understand much better why Johnny Lydon cites this group as one of his musical influences ... The guitar and singing Peter Hamill associated with a monstrous rhythm (Nic Potter on bass and Guy Evans on drums) perfectly complement throughout these 2 CDs for delivering music often molten, although a few moments of calm to allow the listener to recover a bit. Note that this reissue has a well supplied booklet presenting the story of VDGG until 2005 and 2 additional pieces (Door and Nadir's Big Chance, with a line of stunning bass-drums) from the original edition.
