Day before yesterday I received the Walimex 12mm f / 2, it is well made and does not look cheap. The silver is a bit strange, so far I had only black lenses. Aperture ring and distance settings are good to use, the distance scale is me a bit too sluggish. I find it visually very good, so it can probably keep up well with the Zeiss. As a test object initially the starry sky was selected, I like to take pictures of astronomical objects. I was surprised: At f / 2, the figure was very good, de distortion at the edges was limited, at f / 4 it was almost perfect. Today then made daylight shots, I also liked good. That bothered me a bit the lack of depth of field scale, the figures on the distance scale did not seem to be quite accurate and the focus (with viewfinder and highlight) is somewhat ambiguous. The shutter will not be transferred in the EXIF data. I (Copy link into the address bar of your browser) some pictures on flickr uploaded: [...]
Pros: ++ Very good optical quality + Processed good
Neutral: o bezel is not entered data into the EXIF (I knew) o distance scale is not exactly something and too sluggish o No depth of field scale
My opinion: buy recommendation
Supplement, June 19: Have the Walimex now directly compared with the Fuji XF 14mm: With the same aperture (2.8 and 5.6) is the Fuji at the corners significantly sharper and produces fewer CAs. In the middle I feel it to be equivalent.
