Vinyl-processing, and tonal sound

This review applies only to the vinyl version / record!
I would like to respond to something that many audiophile listeners as opposed to the general public very interested, and therefore less on the album and the artist per se. This production comes from the label Third Man Records / Warner Bros Records. Already my old records (70-80'er years) made by WB sound fabulous, where this production (Album: Icky Thump) from 2007 is linked almost seamlessly. But how can I sound now best described .... it sounds less so clear and lifelike such as a record of the German home Stockfish Records, but rather by old-school amerkikanischer tube technology, with voluminous bass what the genre fits very well. The instruments are very well selected, and independently to hear.

Of the recording in the studio, as the mastering process of this album is measured by "present standard" produces above average quality. Could be better, but is still significantly better than the comparable release new albums. This is again due to the, yes now you have unfortunately even say exceptionally clean underlined processed vinyl disk. At that time standard, now no longer the rule. This record convinces already with the first handle, because the edges are high quality rounded, there are no fuses / depressions in the surface, when held against the light, and here it comes, the board has only minimal height beats, which are so unimpressive low that one might think they came from the good old days where the craft was yet understood. The perfect symbiosis of recording level with media quality makes itself audible paid. The sound of this record is one of the best in my extensive collection of different decades. After all, with three weeks recording time it was the hitherto most complex album by the band.

Dynamic Database Some will be well known by the ambitious engineer Friedemann Tischmeyer. For those who should be mentioned that this album in the "vinyl version", for rock music in this day and age a fabled Dynamic Range has an average of 14, and quite a few titles even get over to 17. Comparing this with the "digital versions", which have an average of DR7, it becomes clear how successful this record is * Dynamic Range is a unit of measurement for the leftover after the mastering process dynamics of "audio file", where the value 1 = seer bad / minimum value, to 20 = excellent / greatest value. For comparison, average rock Popmisik has today on a DR of 4-6, this album comes vinyl with values ​​of 13-17, therefore.

The cardboard cover / slipcase / shell, however you want to call it, is very authentic printed quality, nice thick walls / stable, the recordings themselves are again separately packed in transparent plastic bags, only the actual inner linings must be apparently purchased separately. There are two LP's, where the cover can be opened in the middle. Overall, the cover OVP Sealed, and again wrapped in a plastic sleeve. Here, too, from me full credit.

Conclusion: Not only that, the recording is tonally very well done, so is the quality / processing the vinyl audio medium of exceptionally high quality. For this reason, my absolute recommendation, this album in vinyl (pressing 2007 !!!) worth every penny, and provides the best sound carrier is for this album.
