Material and optics:
The material is cut correctly and can be assembled accurately. Va the well-sealed roof is a clear advantage. Visually see the birdhouse good.
Since the wood is relatively light, the birdhouse tilts in mild gusts quickly. As it is with us in a meadow, there was initially no breakages. After several weeks of use is now but a broken page.
A particular problem is that the wood softens in damp weather and the fact the bottom of the bird house at the point where the wing nut rests, so soft is that house and stand are not properly connected.
Bird species that use the house:
The aviary is assumed solely by cabbage / blue / Marsh Tits, tree sparrows and nuthatches with us. Blackbirds do not fit into the interior. More winter birds such as chaffinches, bullfinches, greenfinch and Robin talk exclusively below the cottage on and feed the remains.
Construction handicaps:
- The House lacks a slightly elevated edge on the ground. Because this is only hinted at, the birds sweep the food out in no small part from the feeder so that the largest bird advent is on the ground. However, this would be the species of birds that shun the cottage.
- The thumb screw that connects the house to the stand is, quite dominant in the aviary center. Certainly one or the other bird has encountered there in the crowd ever. It would be nice if it were supplied with a soft protective sleeve case that could be pulled over the thumbscrew and is not nibbled by birds.
- The loss-free filling of the house is not possible with an adult hand. I use now a small shovel - and even then sometimes even fall to the ground grains, because they slip away over the missing edge of the aviary floor.
Conclusion
Optical succeeded, but not suitable for outdoor use
