I loved the sensitive and enlightened way Lydie Salvayre (she is training psychiatrist) discusses the work of the seven women who have all been exceptional (in every sense of the word not to mention "unconventional") in their modes lives and their writings. She speaks with sensitivity and empathy of their unhappiness and barriers to fully enjoy the happiness they seek and they can live - sometimes way too brief and fleeting. She also told us how their works came into resonance with his own inner uncertainties and are influenced in his own life. All this with a beautiful writing.
