"We had to shoot buck ..."

The result is at the end of a very melodic, yet hard disk. For every musical taste which should be there. The real hard are probably standing on such songs as "Sharp, Cool and Collected" or "Bad Brain".

The groovy, however, are more go to "She was great" or "Cut off the top" and those who want it a bit more melodic may have fun at "Jane became insane", "Mean Time" and "EGO"!

But here's my assessments of each song:

1. As I Please (4/5)

An album-opener that the bar hangs very high at the beginning. With galloping drums and melodic vocals, although it is not a typical opening piece as "Big Attack" from the previous album Smack Smash, but a very great, trendy-hard number that inviting you to always re-listening!

2. Jane became insane (5/5)

The first single from the new album. The song is quite trendy, no hard uptempo number, as they will give later on the plate. The idea, drummer Thomas during the refrain to let the microphone gives the whole piece a great flavor, which is in some perhaps disturbed by the solo, which may be somewhat "artificial" effect. Here are the ghosts, I regard the song as one of the strongest titles of the new album! One notices also slight "Hives" and "Queens of the Stone Age" influences!

3. Sharp, cool and collected (3/5)

A hard uptempo number with strong drums. Some beautiful guitar riffs in between give the title a beautiful sound. Especially nice, the passage "If the whole world goes broke I can take it"! ;)

For me personally, the title is not quite promised, which you certainly also need only listen to him.

4. Mean Time (5/5)

A very melodic song, which has a slight touch of summer and "in good spirits". Not quite as hard as the other songs, but very melodic, especially the chorus is a very catchy. Overall one of the best tracks on the album that shines through the melody and not by force! Also Arnim gives everything in the song which ascends above all by beautiful guitar sounds!

5. Demons Galore (4/5)

The song really pure skin after some bass and drums-Gedümpel. A slightly harder number that still does not sound tuneless, especially the guitars got here great riffs and great solos at the end also.

6. Cut off the top (4/5)

The song beautiful, melodic song with reggae influences, really does not sound bad! Only the pure bass and drum-playmate at the end of the song may perhaps not be for everyone! It sounds not "typical Beatsteaks" (if one may speak of something at all), but you immediately recognize their style out!

7. Bad Brain (3/5)

Again a rather harder number, at the singer Arnim on the fine line between "crying" and "singing" converts, where he apparently rather the second preference! ;)

The drums here has a fast rhythm, which gives the song a certain power. The jungle drums moderate "Solo" also sounds beautiful exotic and gives the song on the site for a short time to another, surprising face!

8. She was great (5/5)

For me, the surprise of the album and the Beatsteaks generally! Arnim has unpacked his falsetto voice in this song and sings like Justin Timberlake (if you really want to compare it ...).

What some should now put off reading sounds in the song just awesome! I never thought that me as a kind of song would even like it, but what the guys have packed here on simple melody into a wonderfully groovy song that really blew me away! The song exudes good humor immediately practically invites you to dance!

A wonderful number that reminds a bit of Jamiroquai and is so totally Beatsteaks untypical, that it is typical again! This simply shows that infected an awful lot in the boys!

The song sounds wonderful "tight" (like the Beatsteaks would call it well) and groovy, one might best be compared with "I do not care as long as you sing"!

Towards the end Arnim sings back to normal, which also integrates beautifully in the song! You notice, I love this song! ;)

9. Soljanka (4/5)

This song sounds as if someone had cut two different songs together.

The first part of the song just sounds totally strong, melodic, hard! Here a little has also tinkered with electronic music, which you can easily hear in the background, which gives the song a certain tension.

From about half of it comes in front of a so, as if to prolong artificially the song. The quiet Interim Part sounds very nice, after that it's a matter of taste. I liked the "second part" not too much promised, so I also only 4 out of 5 give the song!

10. Hail to the Freaks (4/5)

A somewhat gloomy song which has yet not suffer from Melody poverty. Very beautiful are also the background vocals-deposits with the verses!

Always accompanied by a nice guitar riff of the song is certainly worth 4 stars!

11. EGO (5/5)

DC vornweg: A super music finale! Again This song really nice skin clean, with a lot of melody. In the song to change Arnim and the other in singing from the song brings again the small remnants from the album out and leaves a properly again the mood for dancing pay! Especially the slightly quieter location with solos like me lyrically and melodically very good! A very successful conclusion, the inviting you to immediately re-Listen!

Conclusion: Probably the most diverse album of Beat meatballs! They did not repeat and tuck correctly, what is to them also managed to fine! One can see that the boys have again outdone itself, both in terms of their skills on the instruments, as well as their musical development. What might bother some, or disappoint, is the shortness of the album (31 minutes), what the album but does not detract from, because you have the length offered really fully exploited!

You have geballert, they rocked, they have learned quite a bit and there are still the old Beatsteaks remained, as we appreciate and love!
