Runaway 2 is a classic adventure without stunning innovations his class predecessors. Graphics, sound, gameplay - everything as usual and therefore very good. Unfortunately Runaway 2 meets the fate destined many successors: disappointment. The story is not bad, but in terms of Runaway 1 it acts but every now and then wooden and uninspiring. When I had the DS not touched once a month and then start again in the 5th chapter, I found it extremely difficult to remember concise sections. The predecessor I remember still years later to the individual chapters. Maybe it's because in Runaway warmed 2 old characters, but no significantly new was introduced. Maybe it is also due to the fact that develop neither the main character nor the supporting characters in the story. Particularly in the case of the protagonist, this was a significant factor in the first part: the paragons adventure hero.
Something one does not expect in Runaway 2. There are: a reasonably compelling story, likeable characters, funny dialogue and sometimes very challenging puzzles. A good, but not outstanding adventure.
The DS port adheres strongly to the PC version and hardly leads DS-specific (eg microphone) gimmicks a. On the top of the screen you have the full view of the scene, on the bottom the screen magnifier. Unfortunately Speech missing, but comes with DS ports of Adventures more common. Overall, a solid implementation.
So I forgive four stars for Runaway 2. Clearly a buy recommendation for fans of classic adventure games, but one with limitations.
