Helen LEE proposes its investigation in the land of Rastafarians, she followed in the footsteps of Howel, 1 rasta. The story is fascinating historically. It sheds light on the birth and evolution of a very recent movement that has grown considerably in a short time. However, I regret not to have found more evidence about the beliefs themselves = not a word about the "I tal food" for example. Not a word either about the "ball heads" while Howell itself does not carry the locks, a succinct explanation would have been welcome. The paragraph on the dialect is small too, too bad, but I can understand that it does not fall directly into the theme addressed. Still, the successive stages of the construction of the movement are well explained it, and the links with African culture. I recommend this book for those who wish to develop their general knowledge.
