Here is an excellent novel particularly well documented by Henri Loevenbruck.
Although at first I was a little cooled by a character praising torture in length describing various aspect of this practice and, disappointed, I left this book aside for 2 weeks. I have resumed reading and I am very happy because I learned a lot about the history of France in the time of Philip the Fair, the Templars and the Inquisition. This novel is exciting and I find that the author has improved. However, a complaint is this unfortunate habit of finishing a chapter in action. This pushes to continue reading immediately what is in contradiction with the "end" of the chapter.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend reading this novel.
