This has 2 blades less than the Gillette derivative. He does not vibrate, famous athletes to advertise in glossy commercials not for the middle class razor Wilkinson and a supposedly much worse result in the Stiftung Warentest lead to the conclusion that he was an atrocious shaver whose result is insufficient and for the morgentliche Shave can be torture. But this is not so, the result is ultimately the same.
Whether I, exaggerated said, 15 or 16 times on one and the same body must milling on the face, I now do not care. Whether my whiskers are no longer upright, just because of the razor does not vibrate, and, ultimately counts is the result, which should be the same for now all existing wet razors.
I have used in my relatively young age a few razors, starting with the Gillette Mach 3, on the Mach 3 Power and the Wilkinson Quattro for fusion series with said merger ultimately Proglide Power (what a name!). The irritation the skin is smooth, low: But since Mach 3 the result is always the same. The time has not changed, only the blades have become more expensive. So I have these 3 Hydro tested, with its simple presentation and its simplicity and delight in the relatively low-cost blades. The result is as I said equal to the hyper-super-model with maybe 200 patents that shaving astonishingly same pleasant. If I am honest also the ProGlide Power has given me from time to time pain, many tweet was there, some skin irritation inevitable. But this Wilkinson is no worse in my eyes just different. That which can slide so the ProGlide Power, not the vibration but the simple and tiny comb (see Stiftung Warentest!) To this Hydro 3 with its gel reservoirs but at least compensates. The freshly shaved skin feels moist, the razor glides over the face at least as good as the over-priced Gillette.
Count me in the arms race of the blade manufacturers (the razor are only the by-business) and no longer can the Hydro 3 only recommend the result is the fusion of Proglide Power equal! Whether you now need 5 blades I do not know. Wilkinson is so customer friendly and says all Hydro blades fit all Hydro razor, so I will also be given the opportunity to test the Hydro5 blades. Ultimately, it is the price that each customer would end up paying for the best shave, and is defined by the blades.
ADDENDUM (01/26/2014):
Now I have also tested the Hydro5 blades and can only repeat my 1st rather vote for Hydro3, the Hydro3 blades and must say that I am convinced of the Hydro5 blades 2. NOT. The shaving I estimate the result no better, if at all equivalent, because the Hydro5 has pointed me towards the Hydro3 several disadvantages. Burning after shaving with blades Hydro5 I find very strong and he scratches a lot more during shaving. The reservoir where these aloe vera liquid (or whatever that is) is, is inconveniently folded away as they advertise here with a the fusion Proglide-like precision blade (but which I can not find anywhere). That is, while shaving the part constantly works away, so that the advantage of the gel reservoir is here actually not given. Furthermore, the grid before the reservoir seems to me much tighter, so here can also be felt less gel leak. For that reason I'm waiting until the last blade of Hydro5 runs out and buy myself again that for me best blades for wet shaving in men - the Hydro3 blades.
