What a special voice!

Otis Blue Sings Soul (Audio CD)

Customer Review

A few weeks ago I bought this CD because I wanted my / our CD collection expand. I call quite a few recordings of his songs my own. But this disc is definitely something special.

The force and the presence of these inimitable voice this unfortunately much too early deceased husband are phenomenal and are kept very well on this disc. When I listen to songs like A change is gonna come, I keep asking myself: What would probably emerged even for songs of this man, he would not have died in a plane crash?
The color of the voice combines with a virtuosity that can probably be described without exaggeration as unique. Passionately and with great verve sings clearly a singer who has remained not only by his Nimbus as too-early-deceased in many hearts and ears. What would have happened even his voice nor anything that they could mature as that of Ray Charles? (I find Redding's voice anyway in the early years better than the late Charles).

The recording quality in my opinion is not absolutely clear (and as a digitally remastered recognizable). Sometimes the instrumentation has fallen to minimal presence, and might have individual sounds can be worked out even clearer. Although from a digital revision is talk, so much remains of a natural original recording quality. The obtained despite smears in the clarity brilliance that the historical potential of the recordings. Sometimes it sounds that is also of a very high quality system in such a way as if the songs from a '60s radio. Overall, one can complain about this so depending on your view or describe a quality award. For me outweighs the positive impression, because the whole concept is coherent and is held consistently across the entire CD.

All too soon the CD is played, and again I wished it would be even more songs included on it. That speaks for itself. I put the wheel over and over again to love. That is, in the truest sense of the word soul music that goes to the heart. She gives comfort on overcast days and gives strength even when I once had a hard day. Therefore, this acquisition is not only a contribution of well-being for the ears, but really for the soul

My summary: What a voice, what a force of such a young guy, who unfortunately died much too early! This recording of 11 songs is incredibly touching and invigorating at the same time. This soulful voice conjures up wonderful sounds 60s directly into the living room. Songs on this CD as Redding A change is gonna come, What a wonderful world or I've been loving you too long for me quite clearly highlights the soul music that make alone already buying this CD totally worth it.
