Williams Strikes Back!

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (Audio CD)

Customer Review

John Williams is once again managed a masterpiece of film music. Impressively he has this (the best) Star Wars movie set in the music scene. For the first time emerges the famous "Imperial March", thus the leitmotif of Darth Vader, and you can do it, if only in rudimentary form, again found in almost every track. Bombastic remained in blush is the fight for the rebel base on the ice planet Hoth: The music has a recurring contrast between the leitmotifs of Luke Skywalker (the Force Theme), love music of Han Solo and Princess Leia and the cold of the Empire. Williams knows all too well, to create an almost seamless transition between scenes of the film, as well as the various scenarios and the associated feeling moods. "The Asteroid Field" makes particularly high demands on any hi-fi system. So you can be in put in the movie, you have to turn up the volume in this piece right! That is now not meant negatively, only many plants keep the not stand, so that it partly comes at a clink. Last but not least: The soundtrack is among the best of all time and is (in my opinion) "the" Star Wars Soundtrack par. In addition, the CD quality is so outstanding that you can hear in some pieces (such as in "The Carbonite Freeze) inhale the entire Orchesta.

What more can I say? This double CD would have 6 stars!
