So there are wonderful, quiet vocal jazz songs like "Baby I'm A Fool", "Lover Undercover", "Our Love Is Easy", "The Rain", "My one and only thrill" or "Deep Within The Corners of my mind "that go very deep through the extensive strings easily and are the highlights for me.
In addition still some momentum fuller, happier songs like "If the Stars Were Mine" (especially in the strings version a delight), "Les Etoiles" and the cover of "Over the Rainbow", which also finds its place here and in the bossa nova style enrich the otherwise rather dull cover that there already is.
A Blue Song joins even in the list "Your heart is as black as night", not my favorite, but ok.
The song "Who will comfort me" fits in no schema, Pop meets jazz, blues, gospel and Independent, a good song. Here one notices also the bandwidth of the artist.
Overall, this album is a true enrichment for the current Vocal Jazz rail which to my mind in recent times often boring albums spawned such as the new album by Diana Krall, the always in the sales charts is indeed far above, but definitely for me Song technically far behind Melody Gardot and "My One and Only Thrill" is.
For all vocal jazz-friends: a strong buy recommendation! Excellent!
