Worse than the Abyssinian

He probably read "save Isfahan" immediately after reading the Abyssinian, to remain under the spell of remarkable first novel JCRufin.Je've read two months after having loved the first volume of this diptych and ... I struggled to continue playing it. It was not until the last third of the book to find the breath of the first novel. The adventures of Jean-Baptiste and George, went in search of Juremi then trying to save Isfahan are disjointed and made me think of those indescribable volume of Tintin !!!
Writing is certainly always quality, historical references still striking, but you really appreciate the author to go to the end of the 600 pages of the Folio edition ...
What then takes this severe judgment? I attributed to the fact that there is no unity of place and the difficulties of the author to deal at the same pace the facts and gestures of characters moving in two worlds very différents.Si all the other works of Jean Christophe Rufin in my opinion deserve to be read, it seems possible to ignore it.
