After a 10ène pages, the fact remained that the first volume had not left me a lasting memory. From a graphical point of view, I quickly found my bearings. But a screenwriting perspective, I was slightly dropped. Everything seemed disjointed, tasteless: where are we? Who is it? What are they talking about? In short, after a 10ène disarray pages, taking my courage, I revived myself in reading the first volume to better immerse myself in this new adventure. And there was a rediscovery!
Indeed, I had totally obscured my mind Raisa. And it is therefore this second volume with a pleasant reading that was offered to me. Yann revives references Thorgal world much more consistently than does Sente eg in Worlds of Thorgal - Kriss Valnor, Volume 3: Fit for a queen.
Of course, nothing is perfect. On the one hand takes Aaricia aesthetically here a facelift that clashes with the Aaricia Rosinski Thorgal in T33 - the Boat Sabre; secondly, some narrative elements show a blatant lack of originality, since they are up to almost plagiarizing passages near the thumbnail from the previous volumes (see p.15 the appearance of a character that you find in Thorgal, Tome 29: Sacrifice for example (p.8)). And there are others ... Would that the stories of Azzalepstön and Tyre that will seem strangely familiar - someone mentioned Manthor? - As well as the behavior of the women of the village that is sure to remember Thorgal, Volume 20: The mark outcasts.
Note also comments that do not really stick with the characters, like a remark about Thorgal Aaricia not credible in view of their common history (p.15). So many little details that I can not fully adhere to this new adventure.
However this album is still readable and lays the foundation for a story that could potentially become strong and interesting. Everything will depend on the direction that future volumes will according to the choices of the author. I already regret one of them: the conclusion of each album on a cliffhanger. It seems premature for a series that has yet to prove itself with a large number of readers. It's not as if we were going to have after next week ... I just hope it will not become a habit.
The fact that the character of Wolf has been little exploited because of his youth is an asset to the Surzhenko / duo Yann it would be unfortunate to waste.
My assessment is rather positive. I am particularly excited about the graphic style Surzhenko, starting with the cover. Indeed, if you had not noticed Rosinski took charge himself hedges universe of Thorgal. For the first time it is Surzhenko who gets stuck and demerit nothing to me. Surzhenko approved by the master? One feels the outset that we are not on Mitgaard; pictorial atmosphere is superb and makes one think of Miyazaki on certain plans. We are far from last drooling drawings Rosinski these species or erasures, scribbles De Vita. I love!
I'm more reserved about the story because of some bis repetita discussed above, although the latter is much more inspired in the main frame as above and between the outset in the thick of it.
It's simple, I have come to tell me that it would be really nice as Surzhenko / duo Yann Kriss also resume the carnage Valnor. The worlds of thorgal: Louve, Volume 2 - The severed hand of the god Tyr is a glimmer of hope in the universe of Thorgal: Worthy of a Wolf!
